HEAD(1) User Commands HEAD(1) NAME head - print the beginning lines of a file SYNOPSIS head [OPTION] [FILE] DESCRIPTION The first 10 lines of FILE are printed to the standard output if OPTION is not present. A different number of lines can be specified with a "-n" OPTION, where n is the postivie number. The standard input is used if FILE is not specified. In the case of the standard input, head will terminate after reading "n" lines.
