"virtual-appliance" is a build environment for primarily virtual appliances, based on Gentoo Linux. Installation on physical hardware is also possible. Best tested is the installation under VMware and with KVM-based Linux hypervisors. Sample appliance configurations can be found in the other repositories (va-*) under "Virtual Appliances".
